Robert Dahlgren, Vice President, 2012 – 2014 Robert is serving his second term on the SRA board, elected in January 2012.  A Washington native, Robert was water skiing with a friend on Lake Sammamish in the spring of 2009 when he saw a collection of rowers near the slough and thought it looked like something worth trying.  He got hooked during Learn to Row 1 and became fully addicted after joining the Evening Competitive Masters team.  It took another year and a half, but Robert completely gave up basketball and now encourages others to make the switch to rowing and save their knees while enjoying a competitive yet supportive atmosphere.  Robert holds a BSEE, MSEE and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from U.W. and is a partner at Jet Set Labs in Redmond where he consults in the software and electric power industries.  Robert brings a background of technical project management and accounting skills to the SRA board.  Outside of rowing, Robert has a passion for mountaineering, cross-country and downhill skiing.  Updated January 2013

Marc McGinnis Marc McGinnis, 2013 – 2015 (marc.mcginnis)
Marc has been rowing since he got hooked on the sport during his last year in college.  Since then, he has rowed both sweep and sculling at three different clubs in the Northwest (have you ever heard of the powerhouse Renton Rowing?).  Since joining SRA in 1998, most of his rowing has been with the competitive Masters team, where he’s gained a lot of racing experience and has a shoebox full of ribbons and medals.  His biggest rowing accomplishment was being part of the men’s 4+ boat that took 3rd at the 2009 Head of the Charles.  After all the times that he’s enjoyed coxing and giving input to rowers, he decided to assist with coaching the novice boys.  When he’s not huffing and puffing on the erg, or working on his technique in the boat, Marc is a husband and father of two sons, an owner in a small geotechnical engineering firm, and a bass player in his church’s worship team.  Updated April 2013

sohier Sohier Hall, 2013-2015 Sohier joined the SRA Board in February 2013.  He began taking rowing seriously 25 years ago.  As a Board member, his ambition is to participate in helping SRA introduce rowing and what it stands for to our communities, and to nurture a life-long love for the sport. Like so many fortunate Juniors at SRA, Sohier’s life was influenced by competitive sport and amazing, caring coaches beginning in high school.   He raced on his small NH high school’s Nordic ski team and was coached by 2 former US ski team coaches.  While the team was among the top in the country, the coach’s goal was to instill such a love for skiing  that we pass it on to our kids.  Now, Sohier hopes to instill the same in others through rowing.   Skiing helped get Sohier into Dartmouth, where he raced both on the ski team and the HWT crew team.  In 1992 he was Captain of the 1992 squad that won the Great 8 Trophy for top crew in the country, and raced the Grand Challenge cup at Henley.  In 1993 Sohier won the Head of the Charles Club 1x event.  He came back to the sport in 2010 for a reunion row with his entire D’ squad, and took second at the HOCR in the Alumni event.   Sohier’s had fun in the last 2 seasons with SRA, and enjoys racing it up over the 1k distance Professionally, he co-founded and runs a social enterprise, Luum.com, along with some other SRA rowers, and sits on 3 Corporate Boards. Sohier and his wife Megan have 3 daughters who are just beginning to explore the sport!    They live in Woodinville.
