The Sammamish Rowing Association, located in Redmond, WA is currently seeking an Evening Competitive Masters Coach (T/Th 6:30-8:30pm & Sat 8-11am). This positions is Part-Time (non-exempt). Pay is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Sammamish Rowing Association (SRA) is the largest community rowing organization on Seattle’s Eastside, with over 375 active competitive rowers. Our mission is to spark and nurture a passion for the sport of rowing in people of all ages. Programs include masters, juniors, competitive, novice, and recreational rowing. SRA is currently building a new boathouse.
Coaches are all responsible for their rowers and all associated activities, competitions, programs, and classes in which they are enrolled. Coaches are a key member of the SRA leadership team and work closely with the Executive Director and other members of the Leadership Team to develop rowers while ensuring the program reflects SRA values of sportsmanship, physical fitness, commitment, teamwork, community, and camaraderie, respect for our surroundings, and a love of rowing.
CPR/First Aid Certified
WA State Boat License (online course & certification)
Level -1 Coaching Certified Minimum
1+ years coaching experience
Strong knowledge of conditioning programs, methods, and strategies
Strong knowledge of rowing mechanics, fundamentals, and techniques
2+ years of coaching experience
Level-2 or Level-3 Certification
Prior supervision of assistant coaches
Experience with extended variety of coaching methods (e.g. video, Row Perfect, etc.)
Experience working with Masters or Youth depending on position you are interested in
