Lee has been coaching masters at SRA for over threeyears. His rowing credentials include collegiate rowing and coaching experience at the Ohio State University. Masters Novice Coach James is serving his first term as a SRA board member, elected in 2011. He graduated from Purdue University with an Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering Degree and worked at Boeing in the the late 90′s before moving to the Connecticut to work for Pratt & Whitney. He moved back to Seattle in the fall of 2004 to work as a structural engineer at Boeing. |

Pam Marshall (pam.marshall)
Masters Sculling & Junior Girls Assistant Coach: When not assisting Courtney with the Experienced Girls Team, Pam spends time in all kinds of boats, coxing and rowing, but her first love is single sculling. She was part of the 2006 Women’s Lightweight Four that won Sammamish’s first Masters National Title. To improve her understanding of the sport, Pam has gone to the Craftsbury Sculling Camp 5 times, and has her Level II coaching credentials. Updated August 2011 |

Simon Williams (simon.williams)
Sculling Coach This is Simon’s first year with SRA and it’s backed by a 30 years in the sport both nationally and internationally. He’s been Head Coach and coach of the Women’s Program at Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA; coach at the Potomac Boat Club for a 2x contending for the Pan Am Games; and is a substitute Coach at Green Lake in the Sculling Program. Simon’s rowing credentials run deep, competing at two Junior World Championships in the 2+ and 1x; medaling at US Club Nationals; finishing in the top ten at the Head of the Charles in 1x; winning the C1x at the Head of the Lake; and medaling at the Canadian and US Masters Championships in mixed 2x, 4+ and 8+. An architect by profession, Simon believes that both architecture and rowing involve teambuilding, planning, execution, and strong focus on the end result. He combines art and science with attention to detail in both his residential designs and rowing. In addition to his wife and children, Simon’s passion is coaching and passing his love of the sport on to others. Simon’s philosophy is “Get ahead and stay ahead!” Updated January 2011 |

Bryan Oakes (bryan.oakes)
Masters Novice Coach Bryan was introduced to rowing when his son decided to row in High School. At the urging of his son, both Bryan and his wife joined SRA’s Learn to Row program. He brings six years rowing experience to his LTR I, LTR II and Novice classes. In addition, he has been active for the last six years in the planning of the new Boathouse. Outside of rowing he is active in the cycling community. Updated January 2011 |

Kelly Foster (kelly.foster)
Learn to Row Coach: Kelly started rowing her freshmen year of high school for the Everett Rowing Association. In 2003 she rowed for the Junior National Team, earning a silver medal in the Women’s 8+. She rowed for Stanford University her freshmen year of college and then transferred to the University of Washington. In 2008, her senior year, her team placed 2nd at the NCAA National Championships. Kelly started her coaching career as an assistant coach for the Lakeside Men’s team and coached the inaugural season of the Seattle Area Rowing Women’s team to a third place finish in the Junior 8+ at Club Nationals this summer. This will be her first season at Sammamish. When she isn’t coaching she is usually in the kitchen baking or hanging out with her friends and family! Updated August 2011 |

Ashley Howard (Ashley.Howard@srarowing)
Learn to Row/Masters Novice Coach: Ashley began rowing in 2005 as a freshman at Georgetown University where she rowed for 3 years on the Potomac. Having moved to Redmond after college to be near family, she joined SRA in March 2010. She is excited to be working with the novice girls this spring and holds a Level 1 coaching certification. Outside of rowing, Ashley works for Willie Green’s Organic Farm in Monroe, enjoys riding her bike and sailing on Lake Washington. Updated January 2011 |
