As part of the Session III camp, all of our rowers will have the chance to participate in our fifth annual SRA Novice Scrimmage on Friday, August 23rd! This is the day when we combine both sessions of novice rowing, and race boats down a 1,000 meter course on Lake Sammamish.
Parents are highly encouraged to watch the races from Idylwood Park in Redmond, then drive over to the SRA boathouse afterward for some potluck snacks and socializing with the SRA staff and rowers and other parents. Please note the change in the normal schedule for this day only!! Event details are below:
SRA Novice Scrimmage
Friday, August 23rd
- Rowers arrive: 9:00am
- Races start (parents view from Idylwood Park): 10:30am
- Potluck @ SRA starts: 12:00pm (approximate- we’ll all head over to SRA once the races are done.)
Potluck Assignments (by last name):
A-I: Desserts + small plates
J-R: Snacks/main dishes (hummus, veg, fruit., cheese & crackers, etc) + plastic utensils
S-U-: Fizzy or juice drinks (please bring some cups if drinks aren’t in individual containers)
V-Z: Bottles of water + napkins
** Please bring whatever size dish you’d bring to a normal potluck, or enough beverage to supply approx 10-20 people.
The coaches will be asking the rowers about their availability to participate during their regular practice. You do not need to let me know if your child cannot attend- that is OK!
