Valentines Day is just around the corner so show your love to SRA by helping in our upcoming Wetland Restoration event! This Saturday, February 11th from 10am-2pm, we will be working on the final plantings in the wetlands surrounding our New Boathouse. This is a great opportunity to earn community service hours for our junior rowers. Time is running out so don't wait, we only have FOUR work-parties remaining! SPECIAL DELIVERY!

Two huge trucks laden with materials for the new boathouse rumbled down the path this morning, and the unloading crew quickly got to work. Four hours later, the job was done. The parts and pieces for our new boathouse structure were signed, sealed and delivered today! Our amazing community of rowers, donors and volunteers got us to this stage. Generous people within our SRA community have already raised $1.5 million for the new boathouse project. Those vital early dollars paid for:

design and engineering work
permitting
building site preparation
wetland mitigation
path and parking lot improvements
the turn lane
the foundation
materials for the building

Completing the project will cost another $1.5 million, so we're already halfway there. Thank you for getting us this far. [more...]

Annual Meeting Tonight!

The Road to London: Greer Selected for Olympic Academic Experience

CORVALLIS, Ore. - While a number of Oregon State student-athletes, both current and former, will be training to represent their countries at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, women's rower Leslie Greer will also make the trek `across the pond,' as the junior was one of only 15 students selected from the entire United States to participate in the Olympic Academic Experience. Sammamish Gala Thanks You!

Our Within Our Reach Gala was held at SoDo Park in Seattle on 11-11-11. This fabulous event brought together Junior Parents, Masters Rowers, Alumni, Family, Friends and Coaches, all working together to support Sammamish Rowing and our drive towards a new boathouse. One highlight of the evening was the announcement of our new Volunteer of the Year Award named in honor of our former Executive Director, Marcy Chartier. The new award was presented to Hanna Floss, who has been a long time member of SRA and has been a volunteer to our club in nearly every position ever needed. For the last year she has served as our office assistance and has helped to keep SRA running smoothly, we are all so grateful for the countless hours she has donated to the club! Another exciting portion of the evening was our 2^nd Annual “Split-the-Pot” Raffle drawing. The raffle was a huge success raising over $26,000, half going to the lucky winner and the other half going straight towards the new boathouse! A special thanks to all of our donors and volunteers. Our club, new boathouse and event simply could not be possible without your support! Winter Conditioning

We are in final meetings to secure our venue/time schedule for the ‘off season’ conditioning classes. SRA has partnered with the Redmond Athletic Club (RAC) for several years now and the majority of our classes will be held at this off-site location.
