Former SRA Oarsmen Compete in U23 World Championships

Rob Munn and Hans Struzyna, two former SRA junior rowers (show below, respectively), will compete this weekend in the Under 23 (U23) world championship in Brest, Belarus. This international racing event was developed for rowers under 23 years of age to compete for their country in a variety of rowing events. Competition to be selected for a United States U23 boat is fierce, and we applaud these two outstanding oarsman and want them to know how proud of them we are at SRA! Read more about this event here. Sunday Intermediate Sculling Class Cancelled

Sculling Checkouts for New Members

JUNIORS RETURN FROM NATIONALS VICTORIOUS!

Sammamish Rowing Association sent 4 boats, with 31 total athletes, to the Youth National championships in Cincinnati, OH June 11-13, 2010. Crews converged in Cincinnati from 7 regions around the United States and competed in heats, semi-finals and finals on a 2000 meter course. Both SRA’s Men’s Youth Quad and Women’s Youth Eight advanced to the Grand Final on Sunday, June 13^th. The Men’s Youth Quad brought home a medal, finishing 3^rd in the nation, and the Women’s Youth Eight placed 6^th overall. The Women’s Lightweight 8+ advanced to the Petite Final on Sunday, bringing home a first-place medal. The Men’s Lightweight 8+ advanced through heats and semis to finish in second place in the C final.
