Sammamish Rowing Association posted great results at the 2012 Northwest Indoor Rowing Championships. SRA had 13 representatives at ERGOMANIA, covering a wide array of events. We had juniors, masters, lightweights, team relays and one brave individual in the “hour of power” event! Rowing unaffiliated with a few UW alumni, Dieter Struzyna placed first in the Masters Team Challenge. In the first 2K flight of the morning our very own Edie Walker took home the gold medal in the Masters Women 60-69 year old event!

This fall classic marks the beginning of head racing season in the Northwest and is often the first race that novice rowers experience. Sammamish Rowing Association hit the water in full force at the annual Tail of the Lake Regatta. SRA was well represented as 175+ Masters and Juniors competed at this great race on Lake Union in Seattle. Sammamish came home with NINE 1st place medals and several 2nd and 3rd place finishes!
Sammamish Rowing Association Juniors sent 14 – 8+’s to the Head of the Snohomish Regatta last Sunday. A great day of racing produced great results for the large team. There were many first place finishes throughout the day. Sammamish not only medaled in almost every race, they often took not one but two top three places in the same event.

Our hats are off to these fierce rowers and the course is 7,000 Meters!!
Sunday’s regatta at Vancouver Lake, don’t be confused by the name; Portland Fall Classic, brought equally impressive results. This time both the Juniors and Masters hit the water and Sammamish was in full force. Our rowers brought home five 1st place medals, including a sweep of the boys events! The juniors also showed their depth by placing not once, but twice in both the junior boys and girls 3rd Varsity 8+ events. Just as exciting were the 1st place finishes by the boys and girls novice 8+’s as well as the masters, medaling in all of their events!
