JUNIOR LEARN TO ROW
Students going into grades 9-12 can learn to row by joining SRA’s high school team. No prior experience is required!
ADULT LEARN TO ROW
Adult Learn to Row (LTR) is a six-week beginner program for adults (18+) of all ages and fitness levels with no prior rowing experience. The series is divided into two parts. Try Rowing is a two-week introductory class and is a mandatory prerequisite for Learn to Row, a more in-depth, four-week class for those who want to know more.
After successful completion of the six-week program, rowers are eligible to join one of SRA's masters teams as a novice. Practice switches from two days a week in LTR to three days a week, on the opposite days. 5 a.m. and Mid-Morning switch from Tuesday/Thursday in LTR to Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Evening switches from Monday/Wednesday in LTR to Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday.
After one novice season, rowers can continue with the team and/or choose a Small-Boat Membership to row independently.
SRA offers Learn to Row only in summer due to weather and low-light conditions during the rest of the year. Please contact the Learn to Row director with any questions. We invite you to learn to row with SRA!
